At the festival, Chryso Lefos will prepare special gastronomic creations starring the palmian lukoumi, while Vasiliki Hatziadamos and the Cretan musical scheme "Kreterai" will give a live music program with traditional sounds
The 3rd Loukoumiou Festival in Foini returns on Sunday 7 June and invites us to a full day full of tradition, flavors, music and authentic Cypriot hospitality. The favorite festival of Lemesos mountain will take place with a rich program of events for young and old, highlighting the famous palmian lukoumi and the traditions of the village.
The festival opens at 11:00, while from 11:30 until 13:00 the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy live link. From 12:30 until 16:00 it will operate free employment for children, with activities and creative games.
At 13:30, the members of the traditional "Years Old" team will present themselves chiatatista, while from 14:00 until 16:00 Chryso Lefos will prepare separate gastronomic creations starring the palmian lukoumi.
The music will also have a leading role, since from 15:00 until 17:30 Vasiliki Hatziadamos and the Cretan musical scheme "Kreteons" will give a live music program with traditional sounds. At 16:00 there will be a greeting from the Minister of Agriculture, Maria Panagiotou, while the festival will be completed with DJ set by ALEJO from 17:30 until 19:30.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to enjoy the exhibition “The myths of Cyprus” at the Cultural Centre, booths with traditional dishes, workshops and activities for children, taste of palm loukoumi, treat Zivania from the village’s panties, as well as presentations of pottery and the traditional knitting of the palm chair.
